  Rarest Blue Lego Windows/Door

Here on a Swedish web auction is a very interesting 1955 Lego set #700/1. If you scroll down, you will see blue classic windows in the box of Lego. Next to them are red classic windows. The red ones are modern (late 50's thru 80's. But the blue ones (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: More esoteric Lego history

(...) Here (on Eric Strand's excellent website) is a picture of KKK's younger sister, not sure if this is Gunhild or the late Hanne. This is taken from a circa 1960 Lego dollhouse brochure: (URL) Eric, show them a pic of the 1958 (twin towered) Town (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Samsonite 118 Train set

I just posted the 1968 FAO Schwarz catalog here: (URL) the Samsonite 118 train which has always been something of a mystery. Here's what the instructions look like: (URL) also contains the 223 Adventure set which was a nice find. Enjoy, Eric (21 years ago, 4-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  More esoteric Lego history

Hi: With so many excellent recent Lego history posts I thought I would add my own 2 cents. This is information I have dug up while working on a Lego history website. My review of early Lego history has allowed me to construct a fairly complete (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Supporting Brickshelf so it doesn't go away!!!

(...) Let's fill in the rest, shall we? "Due to the loss of our major sponsor, Instruction and Catalog scans are no longer available at Brickshelf.com." That says absolutely nothing about the (IMHO) more important issue of user pictures on (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Vintage Lego Commercials Online!

In a post last September I wondered if the vintage Lego commercials shown at some Lego stores were available online. I haven't been able to find a source yet, but recently my good friend David Shifflett was able to capture a few on videotape. I've (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Supporting Brickshelf so it doesn't go away!!!

(...) That's assuming that money is the problem. I'm not convinced of that, and Kevin certainly hasn't said so. In fact, he's said very little of anything at all, except that he may stop accepting uploads at some point. Of course I am only guessing, (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Me, Myself, and The Brick

  Re: what is ALE?

(...) That's a good point. If I were to hear a child described as "into trains," I would just assume that it meant Thomas, or maybe that he liked to watch his parents' train sets. More than being "accepted" as an adult hobby, I'd guess that it's a (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)
