The TECHNIC hole is smaller in diameter than the inside of a 1x1 round brick, which is what allows TECHNIC pins to be inserted into round bricks without damaging the split tip. I looked at my two maces - one has the old gear and one the new. The new one grips better than the old, not worse, but neither slips. I don't feel like disassembling my flails to test the fit on the gears. I'll dig out more gears as I come across (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jul-04, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.general, FTX)

I hadn't noticed any in the HP sets, but I did catch them in the 3579 NHL Street Hockey (kinda hard to miss them, since they're part of the rink barrier, and there's very little else (...) (...) I noticed it the other day when the new Shop At Home catalog arrived. It's also featured in set #3579 - NHL Street Hockey. Looks like there are 4 tan ones in that set. I'm glad to see a new part like this for two reasons: 1) It's a new part (...) (22 years ago, 11-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)
