Re: Other Lego CD tidbits to tantalize and titilate.......

(...) Don't forget Samsonite #005 - Discovery Set. (unless you've seen it in a catalog since our previous discussions). Eric (22 years ago, 1-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Gary Istok's Lego Book Feedback...

(...) Gary, First of all let me say that I am really looking forward to your CD/Book! Especially for the old catalog portion w/corrections. I agree the set description possiblities become unmanageable which is why it is so hard to create a "price (...) (22 years ago, 1-Jul-04, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Quality issue - update

Thanks for the tip about stacking plate tolerances, Jake. A related effect occurs with some 1x2 bricks (first obvious to me with sand red). The crack between bricks in a wall depends on which way the 1x2 are pointing. One end of each brick is a (...) (22 years ago, 1-Jul-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.color, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Hylian Shield

Who needs that dinky little round red shield when you can upgrade to this! (URL) <url=(URL) PSD> Just be sure to not let the pancake monster take it away from you this time. --Anthony (22 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Quality issue - update

(...) Doh, typo. Yeah, as Calum also pointed out, that may indeed be another great source of confusion as to the parts vs. the molds. Makes me curious to know what level of precision MegaBloks, etc use for their molds. I haven't done too much with (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.color, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Quality issue - update

(...) First, what ABS can allow moulding to is different than what the company targets. Precision costs money. Decrease the tolerance, and you increase the cost, because more rejects are made. Also, the mold tolerance is different than the part (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.color, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Quality issue - update

(...) I think you mean 0.005? (ie the same as the ULB above). Anyhow, the precision of molds may not be the same as moulding precision? Scott A (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.color, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Quality issue - update

(...) I've got yet another doc (not sure of the source-- was emailed to me as an Offical 'standard Lego FAQ' sorta thing) that reports: "The precision molds are made at two LEGO factories in Germany and Switzerland. They are precise to (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.color, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Quality issue - update

(...) That’s nothing. My “(URL) Lego Book>” (Foreword by KKK himself) tells me that in 1963 ABS allowed moulding precision to 0.005 mm (0.0002 inches). Scott A (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jun-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.color, lugnet.general, FTX)

Bad to the Bone - Abaddon's Army

Oops. I did it again. Here's another set of stickers. Probably not my best work, but I'll be the first to admit I created the rest of the faction to simply go along-side the shield design I came up with, which I think is really pretty nifty. (...)
