  Re: LEGO sucks!

(...) I think Jake is honest with us and passes along any information that is important to the community, whether good or bad. I'm sure he believes it. (...) Well, let's put this into perspective. LEGO is a hobby to most of us. We usually can't make (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

  Re: LEGO sucks!

(...) Jake has said many times that he doesn't lie to the AFOL community. (...) Have you had business dealings with "far east" cultures like the Japanese? If you ask them to do something, and they aren't going to do it, they don't tell you "No" at (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

  Re: LEGO sucks!

Hi, get me right: Jake tries his best - I know, but I cannot imagine he is really believing what he is writing. Then he could not be an AFOL. For him it must be frustrating. So this was my intention to give him the hint to look for a new job. No one (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) Oh wait, I think I get it now. Maybe the first question was too specific. Let's make it a game of it and see if we can gather a few more "official denials". How about 20 questions? Was there a cost savings component in the decision to change (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

  Re: LEGO sucks!

I don't believe your ranting is serving any useful purpose. I personally think that Jake is doing everything he can to help. That's a [hard] thing to do. When you're in customer support, it's a very difficult thing to keep certain customers happy (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

"Dirk Meier" <dirk.meier@surfeu.de> wrote in message news:HxB097.1A8r@lugnet.com... (...) Okay - timeout. Really. There is absolutely no need for that. Whatever the AFOLs concerns are with new colors, there is absolutely no need for that. Just (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

(...) I keep on agreeing with Jojo! I've gone from being a supporter of the company to merely a supporter of their product now (as a result of the colour change). -Bryan (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Update: Universal colors - beginnings

(...) What broad sided the AFOL community was the fact that I'm sure everyone here assumed that all of these colors were fixed (including the old grays and brown). Grays and browns have been around seemingly forever. It's crushing to know that those (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) Absolutely. Different plastics have different natural colors. Some start out clear, others start out white, and those are basically the only colors that can achieve a true white (since hobby shops generally only sell white styrene, I'd guess (...)   Re: LEGO sucks!

(...) I really hope someone hacked into your system and wrote this message. I would be really embarassed to be associated with a hobby in which fans speak with such lack of class and civility. If this is the way AFOLs behave (and I stress the A for (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, FTX)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) Check-By-Phone. I don't use credit cards, and I don't want to wait for my payment to arrive by snail-mail before my shipment can be sent to me. In addition to the fact that S@H usually costs more because of S&H charges, it'd take over a week (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, lugnet.castle)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) That's what we've been told. Licensed characters (SW, HP, Spiderman, Dora, etc.) and real-world personalities (Ferrari drivers). Of course, with how badly the NBA minifig 3-pack sold, you have to wonder why the retail chains would still be (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

  Re: LEGO sucks!

(...) I don't care for the color change - they should have thought about backwards compatiblity and inviolate colors before they made the change. If they had, I really doubt they would have be having this discussion. That they won't change back is (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

  Re: Jake did good Thanks!!

Hello! (...) You are right, this term is highly questionable. I like building with LEGO bricks and collecting LEGO sets. But I am not a "fan of LEGO" because - following TLC's corporate identity statement on www.lego.com - "it is not possible to (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) Ah, I see now. You were trying to say that the only market that cares strictly about the commitment to listen to AFOL feedback is the AFOL market itself, which I can agree with. Noone else has any reason to care why you did something so much (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego)

Re: Color Change - Final Update

(...) When BIONICLE accounts for 25% of all LEGO product turnover, investing a little space in special items for that powerful market hardly counts as "squandering" space. It might surprise you to know that the biggest complaint about them is not (...) (22 years ago, 6-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, lugnet.castle)

  Re: LEGO sucks!

(...) Dirk, I think this post was rude and uncalled for. How would you like to be called useless? I sure wouldn't. You basically just called Jake a moron.
