I've been working on my Ancients Theme for past 3 years. I was a Castle fan but
after witnessing the gigantic castles made by other Lego fans I decided to out
do them. So to go one better, I decided to make MOCs far larger than a castle,
so I moved my Theme back to the time of the Ancients, where the armies that were
fielded were far larger and the fortifications were far more massive, as in a
fortified city-state. With that my Ancients Theme was born.

Im still working on this Ancients Theme using mostly Star Wars Lego and Castle
Theme minifigures. Due to its sheer size in terms of minifig army numbers (great
for BrikWars) and huge buildings, its still far from being complete. The theme
has all kinds of ancient structures as well as troops and civilians. I have
about 22 different civilizations in this Ancients Theme, ranging from
agricultural and trading civilizations near the seas and rivers to the
hunting/herding tribes from the steppes of Central Asia.

Although it touches on the daily lives of the ancients, it is also a Lord of the
Rings like tale centering around the conflicts between whole civilizations. The
story is part history, part mythology, with a dash of current world affairs
mixed in. The names of the 22 civilzations are based on the names of
city-states, or what the people called themselves, or what other
peoples called a civilization, or regions or even a dynasty of a particular
culture, and finally the name a of mythological civilization.

Here are some examples:
Hsia = Ancient Chinese dynasty
Harappa = Ancient India's oldest city
Shinar = what other peoples called the area of Babylonian culture aka Chaldeans
Etruscans = peoples who lived in several city-states around the region
we now call Central Italy, they predated the Romans
Kahilawayan = name of a mythological culture in ancient Philippines, somewhat of
an "Asian Atlantis" located in the western Pacific rim.

I've been thinking about adding Atlantis itself into the theme at all. Perhaps
as somewhat of a "rival super power" for the Kahilawayans. I'll base the Lego
version using various sources about Atlantis from the original Greek, from
ancient Indian religious sources, as well as various other accounts from other
cultures, and even using Occult mythologies/legends about it.

Anyhow I will make a website later on about the whole Ancients Theme
that Im making.

On to the Lego models!
Here is the FIRST of the FOUR massive 3 feet and 4 inches tall Guard Tower for
the Kahilawayan city-state.

Its colored black and grey since the strucutres built using stone found in such
tropical places in Southeast Asia like Angkor Wat, and Borobodur as well as
other ruins in the region have this odd black and grey color to them. There is
also a historial basis for this form of fortification since archaeologists found
some 4,000 year old fortress ruins in the Philippine island of Luzon.

Here are examples of what the troop types for Harappa (ancient India) and Sabah
(ancient Arabia) look like. Both are heavy infantry types providing the bulk of
their respective armies.

The black robes used by Indian warriors was taken from a history based Indian
movie I saw as well as books and internet sources. The same goes for Arabian
soldiers, except that I used history-documentary sources as well.

Excellent!  I also like to build fairly 'big.' I find trying to scale a
floorplan to actual minifig dimensions dictates a pretty large building.

So, if live anywhere near New Hampshire..well, my castle can whoop your castle
in a bit o' brickwars if you like.  *laugh*  Anyway, great MOCs!

Here is the link to my current effort (not nearly done)
