I bought it very soon after it was released and played a mission or so
every now and then, but was more occupied with other games during the
30 day grace (return) period that the store allowed. About a week ago
I started playing more regulalry and then ran into a mission that I
haven't been able to complete. I've been close two or three times,
but after about eight attempts -- and having to restart the whole
mission each time -- I sincerely wish I'd given the game a better
shakedown during that first 30 days.
My principal complaint is that you can't save the game during a
mission. I'll willingly concede that I'm not the best at games of
this type, but if I were able to save and reload at least I could try
to learn from my errors without the mind-numbing tedium of replaying
the entire scenario.
I've been to the support web site and seen a reference to an upcoming
patch, but no details as to what it changes or when it's due. I sent
an EMail to LEGO Media Tech Support and got a prompt reply saying that
they don't know what's going to be included (which does not fill me
with confidence), but did confirm that there will be an update and
that the web reference isn't just a placeholder.
I knew from reading the manual that the game had this limitation.
I've returned other games for the same design flaw, but was willing to
keep this one in the hopes that it wouldn't become a show-stopper.
Unfortunately, it has for me -- I finally gave up on the game when my
last attempt at the mission ended in a hard lock-up of the PC. I took
that as a sign to move on to other less frustrating pursuits.
I hope you have better success than I did.

| I just thought I wanted to share this with you. After spending two days battling with Rock Raiders to make it run (after selecting mission, it simply died) I finally figured out, that I had to select my graphics card:) Haven't formed an opinion of (...) (24 years ago, 20-Mar-00, to lugnet.games.lego.rockraiders)
