Hi, I got Lego Rock Raiders today,
maybe someone else mentioned elsewhere on lugnet before, but the new CD-Rom
is totally based on a new space theme idea. The story is that the Rock
Raiders crew is just cruising around IN SPACE and suddenly gets hidden by
several asteroids that warp them into another galaxie where they have to
search crystals to get energy. Sounds very similar to the Insetoids idea and
at least the CD-Rom is based on the classic space theme idea introduced in
around 1990. I got the german version, but I think the US one should be very
close to this one. Besides this intro it's only taking place underground,
but a very futuristical underground. They "teleport" (beam) around and have
large power plants such as other new things, the new pieces just being a few
inovations. I like this game a lot better than Loco or chess that I do also
have. Well, I haven't played a lot yet but it's a very complex and
complicated game. You have to dig through several caves and build lots of
things to collect more crystals and so on. It's a cool game, not only for
children IMO. And at least for me, Rock Raiders IS now a real Space theme.
