Well, not owning and not having played the game I can't say for sure so
anything I do say should be taken with a bit of salt.
However.. with all the other racing games I've got with the phantom feature,
the phantom car is a repeater of your fastest lap. Using this, you can race
yourself. I've found that by following the phantom closely I can get a better
idea of where on each track I could use a pixel or two here and there to get a
better lap time.
Of course, this may not be the case with Lego racer - someone who's actually
got the game should be able to confirm/deny.
Just thought I'd jump in and drop my 2 cents! :)

| When starting a rtace, if you hold the "up" button and the accelerate button right when the countdown gets to "0" a phantom version of your car will speed out ahead of you... I can't figure out what this is for...anybody know? -- Thomas Main (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.games)
