In 2025, due to concerns about the effect of pollution on the lady
liberty, the statue was painstakingly dismantled, each part carefully
labeled as to position, and packaged for travel to the moon where it
would be safe from the ravages of pollution. A force field would protect
the lady from micro-meteoroids. After arrival on the moon, the process
of reassembling the lady continued for months. Finally, with little time
to spare, the final piece was bolted in place at 23:57 EST July 23, in
time for the grand re-opening on the United States's 250th anniversary.
