Why do my posting privileges come un-stuck?

I have this ongoing problem with Lugnet's web interface. Despite being signed in
to Lugnet, at work (uhoh) I always have to enter my name and stuff before each
post. At home, occasionally I get to go through the Setup procedure again before
posting. I don't sign out and I am set to "never sign out." What's going on?
Does everybody else experience this?

More details: I use Netscape 4.0.8 for Macintosh in both places, with full
cookie privileges. At work, I'm posting from my Powerbook where I use a "work"
user profile for Netscape. That's for the firewall there. Maybe the firewall
eats part of the cookie? I dunno. At work I have to enter my name every time,
but I stay signed in.

I bring the Powerbook home and on the "home" Netscape user profile I am still
signed in and I can post just fine. At home I'm behind a NAT router, which seems
benign. The desktop computer at home runs the same Netscape version, and I use
just one Netscape profile most of the time, occasionally switching user profile
without obvious deleterious effects. Well darn it all, tonight I hadn't switched
any profiles or used multiple machines at all, and I got the Setup procedure
before posting. It makes me wonder, did the Terms of Use change and Todd reset
everybody? Is that it?

Hey Erik, Can't help you, but you might wanna XP this to .admin.general... (where it'll more likely catch Todd's attn) In fact, don't bother, I did it for you :-) -Shiri P.S. Todd - if we have .admin.nntp... should there be a .admin.web-interface? (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jul-00, to lugnet.faq, lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Me too and I wish I knew why. I think it's just bugginess in Netscape cookie handling. Or the cookie monster. It seems to happen to me to Lugnet more often than elsewhere (like on Yahoo finance) but I'm *on* Lugnet more. Just as Shiri did, I (...)
