Subject: How does one map a bitmap onto a LDraw object?
Content-Language: en
Topic-Level: 1
Revision: Jacob Sparre Andersen, 1999-05-14
Location: /cad/dev/,/cad/ldraw/creating_parts/
Comment: Unedited cut from the LDraw FAQ.
<P>
Use BMP2LDRAW, BMP2DAT or Tore's LDraw vector drawing program (see the
answer to <A Href="#question-16">question 16</A>) to create a .DAT file
with just the image.
</P>
<P>
Copy the DAT file for the part you are going to add the bitmap to from the
<Code>Parts</Code> catalog to the <Code>Models</Code> catalog, and give it
a new name.
</P>
<P>
Insert the bitmap as a part in the new DAT file. Translate and rotate the
bitmap part as appropriate.
</P>
