Northwest BrickCon 2006 (NWBrickCon2006 NWBC2006) ended last night.
It was a great event.
I took some photos. Photos are posted to Brickshelf, available after

A few hilights:
Bill Volbrecht showed some of his models
including his
garden
gnome, a
penguin,
taz,
Mickey
Mouse, an
Easter
Egg, and his
pelican showing
building details on the reverse side.
The castle display was
huge
and featured an
enormous midevil battle. There was a
castle
style floating island. I was really impressed by this
castle, which had amazing detail
inside,
outside, and
around, including a
shark
attack in the moat. Favorites from previous years were back including the
ogre
attack, a
herd
of sheep and a
castle
themed Starbucks. One fantastic castle tower featured
amazing use of the Harry Potter staircase elements.
The draft set was 4894 Mythical Creatures.
There was a speed build, a master build, and a piece draft using this set. The
master build was a timed creative event where people built a mecha using the
pieces from this set. Some of the creations were
serious, some were
humorous, some were
very polished.
