  Brickswest Rocks!

My buddy Ryan and I had a blast at Brickswest. We couldn't have picked a better event to make our first visit. Kudos to Matt and Dan P. for organizing such a fun event. With the extreme exception of one douche-bag, everyone was very cool, and very (...) (23 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest)

(...) Nope, definitely not evil, or clone. Two projects which developed concurrently. I had a good time with Kevin and Jon this weekend, and can't wait to get my hands on a copy of Powertools. *but* I'm waiting till we're finished with Virtual LEGO (...) (...) Note that the 25% off on the books was by both publishers and as far as I can tell (I was at BW03). The 25% off was for books SOLD during the event only. No Starch was taking pre-order for the LDraw Book (with FREE shipping) and Syngress had (...) (23 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest)

Re: Brickswest animation festival: how was it?

(...) The issue here is that it is a rather delicate subject. Bill is correct, many of the offerings were greeted by healthy applause. There were significant issues, however, with the way things unfolded. I know a number of people were frustrated (...) (23 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.animation)

  Brickswest pics

I took very few pictures, mostly details of faces and pigeons, plus a couple of other things. That, and lots of pictures of the map. The dots ended up working a little different than I had expected. For the first two days at the park, the Legoland (...) (23 years ago, 19-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.general)

Re: Brickswest animation festival: how was it?

I was sitting in the foyer getting ready for the closing address with Matt, so the only entry I saw was the "Christmas Carol" one. But the applause was thounderous for all the entries. Paul Sinasohn LUGNET #115 BAYLUG (23 years ago, 18-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.animation)

  Re: Brickswest: What a blast!

(...) Well, since Brickswest is run a little differently (every MOC on display isn't judged for a contest) I actually didn't have any creations involved in any prize-awarding situations, so the X would be zero! I decided to give other people a (...) (23 years ago, 18-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.people)

Some highlights for me: - selling parts to Legoland (I had some car wash brushes that they needed for repairing the Mardi Gras parade). - introducing the Pirate Game to three new players - buying and selling - trading with the K-8 - (...)   Re: Brickswest: What a blast!

(...) Agreed. It was great to put faces to names and meet the west coasters. Eric, Dave, and Bryce put on a great Mecha display, and your ships were really quite amazing in person. The train layout was great, too. Extra special props to Wayne (...) (23 years ago, 18-Feb-03, to lugnet.events.brickswest, lugnet.people)
