As most AFOLs know, Pick a Brick is something that is available at the LEGO Brand Retail stores. A selection of LEGO parts are available in various quantities. This year, the Potomac Mills LEGO Outlet will be getting Pick a Brick in time for BrickFest.

In support of BrickFest, They are accepting our input as to which parts are most desired. If you are registered to attend BrickFest, you can select parts for this survey, and the survey selections will be sent to the store manager, who will make every effort to obtain the requested elements. LEGO will do its best to fill the list made by the attendees, which is a first-time collaboration for both LEGO and BrickFest!

And you can be part of this, but only if you’re attending BrickFest! http://www.dc.brickfest.com/

Additional, we are requesting K9s of the top requested elements. This is a box size that is about half the size of a K8. A K9 has an approximate sale price of $150 each and if the requested 30% BrickFest discount is extended to the price of the PAB, then thats only $105.00 a Box. Due to the variation in size of elements, their is no way they can provide us with an element count. If you are interested in K9s of any element the then please email info@brickfest.com by 6/26/04

This survey will only be available till 6/25/04.

See you in August!

Pick A Brick Questions Answered!

Hello to everyone interested in Pick a Brick at the Potomac Outlet during Brickfest!

I have done some homework and made a few phone calls to track down some answers to the things you guys wanted cleared up.

The “K9”, as far as I can tell, is indeed this, as suggested earlier. It is the standard box that our PaB selection is shipped in, referred to as a “case” of elements.

As stated, I don’t have any numbers or estimates on how many elements of any particular type are in each case, but it’s estimated at 22 standard bags (the Outlets use bags similar to the loose brick bags you see in the stores) at $6.95 a piece, which is where the $150 a case comes in. Of course, you guys are getting a great deal on that.

I have checked as well on the question of color, and have been informed that our stock with be made up of the new grey colors. Checking around, I have been unable to find much old grey in PaB selections, and it won’t be different here.

If there are any other questions, feel free to email me or post them here, and of course, I look forward to seeing you all at Brickfest!

(...) <snip> (...) Thank you for the clarification and making this correction. This would lead me to now say that the size of the "K9" is closer to 1/4 th of a K8. Christina Hitchcock BrickFest (21 years ago, 24-Jun-04, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

(...) For those of us still trying to get a feel for how much brick the K9 contains, could somebody give an estimate of how many bricks that would be? I know this is just a wild guess and I won't hold you to it but I'm trying to wrap my head around (...) (21 years ago, 25-Jun-04, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)
