Re: West Coast Brick Fest - concerns and hopes

(...) Eric --- two words: You ROCK. I think you hit every possible nail on the head - seriously. LUGOLA is having a meeting in a few days - hop on a plane and get out here! I am sure this will be one of the topics on the plate at the meeting - there (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-03, to lugnet.events)

Re: West Coast Brick Fest - concerns and hopes

(...) Indeed, and just like Christina said, "Don't expect that next year's fest will be held in Wa. DC , althought that's what they (we) are shooting for." Having alternatives like the advantages Altlanta has is a good thing to remember. Plus as a (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-03, to lugnet.events)

Re: West Coast Brick Fest - concerns and hopes

(...) Hmm, looking at my trusty map, and considering the NE corner of the US as Boston and the SE corner as Orlando (taking places that have known centers of AFOLdom), then DC is closer to the NE corner. Let's see how the quarters of the year stack (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-03, to lugnet.events)

Re: West Coast Brick Fest - concerns and hopes

(...) Eric, What corner of the U.S. is VA in? If you really wanted a corner, Atlanta would be the place, and we have not one but two LEGO stores....of course I'm just messing with you since there is no way I would put myself though what the (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-03, to lugnet.events)

  Re: BrickFest(TM) PDX 2004 Announcement

Hi Mark, Thanks for summarizing your concerns! I got thru most of the old thread and it started to hurt my head! :) Since most of these decisions where made by many people I'll use the word we. But please everyone don't misunderstand that "we" (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events)

  Re: BrickFest(TM) PDX 2004 Announcement

(...) Not entirely true. I think it would be nice to come up with a good overall name for the rotating con, but I would submit Worldcon as something that has a different name each year. In fact, Worldcon really isn't the official constant name (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events)

  Re: BrickFest(TM) PDX 2004 Announcement

(...) Steve, First and foremost, let me wish you luck with this event, and let me also thank you for taking this on - I know it is in no way a small task. You should be applauded for taking this on. But at the same time I do have concerns about this (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events)

  Re: BrickFest(TM) PDX 2004 Announcement

Woohoo! I think I'll make it, I was saving leave days for Brickswest, with it being in OR the leave days will be more well used! I hope to be there every day, lots of trains, fire engines, town...;-) Josh (23 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events)

  Re: BrickFest(TM) PDX 2004 Announcement

(...) I know this question is going to come up, so I will answer it now. The PDX is the airport 3 letter/digit designator for the Portland airport. Or you can assume any of the following versions of what PDX means: BrickFest PDX - Pretty Dam (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-03, to lugnet.events)
