Canadian LEGO Fest, the birth of an idea

Hello, It looks like we may eventually have a Canadian LEGO Festival. Currently things are in the extremely early stages, but I want to see this happen, so I am going for a wide audience. I have created an FTX page to further my reflections on this (...) (25 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.events, lugnet.announce) !!

  Re: PirateFest 2001

The Greater Florida Lego Train Club appeared at the GATS 2001 in Orlando Aug 11 and 12. Due to time constraints on most club members, this was a "one-man" show (Robin) with a little assist from me (KK). So heaps of credit to be given to Robin for (...)   Re: PirateFest 2001

(...) Probably about 12x14. Access on weekends should be no problem. It is a matter of I have to turn off, and then as we leave turn on the building alarm. Weekdays isn't really an option at work. (...) (25 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.events)

  Re: PirateFest 2001

(...) How big is the smaller room? What is the access time frame (i.e. what time can we get in in the morning and how late can we stay at night)? DC probably works best all around as most of the East coast folks interested live within 5hrs drive. (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.events)

  Re: PirateFest 2001

(...) As I said we have lots of carpet squars in the large room, and there is a smaller, precarpeted room. 24 hr access isn't available, but it is always locked. (that might be a possible problem-- I would have to be there to let folks in the whole (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.events)

  Re: PirateFest 2001

(...) I could do DC, but not NC. My driving endurance about maxes out at 4 hours right about now--then the arthritis takes over and things get downright unpleasant. (However, Chris and I could probably carpool--whose vehicle depends on whether or (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.events)

  Re: PirateFest 2001

(...) Carpetted floors are vastly preferred over other floor styles. It's much easier on the LEGO (remember, we're sliding ships around). 24 hour access or lockability is a must. (25 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.events)

  Re: PirateFest 2001

I would very much like it if it were in DC. Along with that statement, let me say that (depending on which weekend is chosen) I may well be able to supply a location. I work for the Shakespeare Theatre in DC and we have several rehearsal/class (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.gaming, lugnet.events)

  PirateFest 2001

  Re: Milwaukee Meet pics

Ahhh CRUD! All I did yesterday was sort and watch my (getting kinda old) DVD collection. I've got to get more organized. While I can't promise anything, I will, nay, I MUST get to the next meeting. And I really really would have liked to see "The (...) (25 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.events)
