On October 3,4 and 5 ItLUG had a new event in Castello d'Argile, a small town in
the middle of the country, near Bologna, Italy.
The event reaches its third edition but the last two years was organized by an
indipendent group of AFOLs. The leader of this group (Monica and Agostino, owner
of a computer shop that sells also LEGO...) visit the ItLUG LEGO fest of
Ballabio in 2007. In that moment we started to co-operate between their group
and ItLUG.
In the first day of January 2008 I made a work trip around Bologna (for the real
work...) but I found time to visit them. In a couple of hours we decided to
start a real co-operation, so their event called "LEGO... che passione" (LEGO...
what a passion) was transformed in a new ItLUG LEGO fest. The indipendent group
is now part of ItLUG and all their members in the past months subscribed ItLUG.
The new event went well and we have crowded people for two days.
The space was formed by only two big rooms (one is a theater). We had about 30
AFOLs in 3 days. Municipality promised a bigger space for next year!

In this event we bring some changes in our play area.
The play area is very important for us and now we can involve children and
adults. The play area is composed by:

- official LEGO play tables (offered by LEGO Italy)
- famous board games made with LEGO available to the visitors (Quiridor, Quixo,
Cathedral, Draughts, Pachisi, Pentonimo, etc.)
- LEGO set available to children

The LEGO set is a new idea for us that it is the first time we try to organize.
ItLUG bought some little sets (creator, city, castle) and we give them to
children. The children take the parts in a box with the instruction booklet at
the ItLUG stand.
At the end of the building the children come back with the set. An AFOL controls
the set and puts it on display for a little time. An other AFOL controls the
building area.
We think that it is a way to involve all the children to play with LEGO and some
AFOLs (me too, I love it) explains some tricks to children.
