The Brickish Association held their second Christmas
Party at Legoland Windsor last Saturday (4th December) with about 40 people
attending, some bringing their children. The event was held in The Mansion which
is used as Legos offices and their corporate hospitality suite. Apparently the
house used to be the American ambassadors residence and the room we were in was
the JFK room.
Activities included:
A dragon building session copying a pre-built model, (Many, errr...
customisations were apparent.) Pass-the parcel with small Clikits or
MacDonalds polybags in every layer. Strangely the music seemed to stop when a
child had the parcel! There was compensation for the person next to them in the
form of Duplo store opening commemorative bricks. An auction of mixed parts,
shop displays and sets was ably presented by Michael LeCount in his unimitable
style. Proceeds went to the Brickish Association and charity. A trip up the
park to the Big Shop and Pick-a-Brick. We were provided with a very good
buffet lunch by Lego catering who also supplied endless quantities of tea,
coffee and biscuits.
Much talking and comparing of ideas took place and it was a good chance to meet
familiar faces again and welcome new ones in a very friendly atmosphere.
Various members brought MOCs and and old sets etc. to display; pictures of these
and the event can be seen
here.
