That is good advice, well-received, but which is sadly getting very hard to
follow. On a recent trip to my local LEGO Retail store, I asked the
employees if there were any sets with studded Technic beams, and they
didnt even know what I was talking about. Eventually someone showed me
7905 which, despite being hidden far away from all the other Technic
offerings, was almost completely sold out. (Only one copy left in the
whole store.) The model looks great, and I almost bought it, except that I
already had an armful of Pick-a-Brick cups and a copy of Creator set 4956
in my sweaty little hands by that point.
|
Seems to me the best place to get studded technic is in non-technic sets.
The Dino attack helicopter, several exoforce sets, designer sets etc are all
appearing with at least some studded technic.
Otherwise, perhaps its time to update your skill-set and learn to use the
studless beams instead of just whinging about them.
|
The studless beams have their place, but they are not a perfect replacement
for studded beams in all circumstances. A studded beam can almost always be
used in place of a studless one, but the reverse is not true.
|
Actually, Id like to see your analysis of that statement.
|
If I wanted to
place artificial roadblocks in my own way, it would be cheaper and easier to
just switch over to MegaBlocks.
|
I prefer to think of them as challenges rather than roadblocks.
|
And the NXT itself, being the top-of-the-line LEGO brick, doesnt have a
single trademark LEGO stud anywhere on it.
|
Im not even sure studs CAN be trademarked. But their trademark logo is
prominent on the front.
|
I was under the impression that
MindStorms was an offshoot of Technic, not Bionicle.
|
Are you asserting that studless = bionicle?
