This letter is offensive in that it attempts to usurp the label AFOL and turn it
into a special interest group with a particular agenda. Not all AFOLs agree
with the postitions taken and by implying they do this letter is deceitful.
If I wrote a letter saying all AFOLs were flower-worshipping vegans would that
be allowed to stand?
This letter must be withdrawn and if I was in charge of LUGNET I would send a
warning to its author for a possible violation of the terms of service
specifically:
- LUGNET TERMS OF USE AGREEMENT
- Version 1.0.1, 7 Mar 2000
- Discussion Group Terms and Conditions
- LUGNET includes discussion groups which allow feedback and interaction between users. LUGNET and its owners and/or operators do not control or censor messages, information, or files delivered to discussion groups. It is a condition of your use of the discussion groups that you do not:
6. Post or transmit any information, software, or other material which violates or infringes upon the rights of others, including material which is an invasion of privacy or publicity rights or which is protected by copyright, trademark, or other proprietary right, or derivative works with respect thereto, without first obtaining permission from the owner or right holder.
Transmission of this letter constitutes an infringment of the rights of all
AFOLs by making claims on their behalf without thier consent.
Pick a catchy name for those who feel so strongly but DO NOT claim to represent
ALL AFOLs.
