Sure, I'm not too happy about the change of greys, though I think in the long
run the new greys will prove to be a better color.  But I wanted to offer a
little reality check here...

If Mattel suddenly changed Barbie's hair or eye color, would they care what
adult collectors think?

If Disney decided to make Mickey's ears pointed suddenly, would they apologize
for it publically in a forum for adult collectors of Disneyana?

Would ANY toy company other than LEGO use Internet polling of adult fans to
determine future product releases?  Send executives to address conventions with
only a couple hundred people present, unveil new products, and answer questions?

NO!

Sure LEGO makes mistakes sometimes - who doesn't?  But we have to realize what a
blessing we have in Jake (and Brad, before he left), and in the company's
willing and even eager interest in working with such a small percentage of their
customer base.

So I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Jake, for all your hard work!  And express
my sympathy for having to bear the brunt of the AFOL outrage over the color
change!  And THANK YOU for working to take whatever steps you can to help ease
the transition and help us move on to the next thing...

Remember folks... LEGO is always coming out with new and exciting sets and parts
and I'm sure this year is no different.  So let's take a collective deep breath
and see that there's still a lot to love about the product and the company.

--Bill.
