This is a good suggestion, and one that has been made a few times on LUGnet. I
think AFOLs are more enthusiastic about the possibility than LEGO is about
making it available.

I buy an absurd amount of Lego sets marked down as slow sellers, in damaged
packaging (a REAL problem that TLC needs to address - speaking as an engineer
horrified at some of the packaging I see) and such. TLC would make more money
selling me (and others) the parts we want instead of letting us scrounge parts
from mark downs.

Are you talking about buying marked-down damaged sets from mainstream retailers?
I dont think LEGOs revenue changes whether the set is in a markdown bin at the
retailer - the retailer has already bought it from TLC at their cost. But, as
you say, they would make more if they sold the parts & colors we want, in the
quantities we want.

| Replacing colors, dumb move. Creating a great market for grays on eBay and such (which TLC makes NO money from.....). How about another possibility that might mollify people. Treat the new colors as "new" colors BUT continue to make the old (and (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jan-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)
