No Techic universal sets this year?? Why?

I've noticed that there are no universal building sets this year in the
Technic line. 8062 is discontinued, apparently, with nothing replacing
it as a moderately bulk supply of a good selection of spare parts. Or
is the current '99 catalog incomplete?
