 Dear LEGO / *4847 (-20)
A Non-Griping Letter With Gasp! Praise for Lego!

I visit Lugnet every day to see what people are saying about my favorite hobby, and it seems to me that just about every other post is a gripe about Lego... whether it be about the new colours or the new sets... Well, I thought maybe for once a (...) (20 years ago, 8-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego) !!

  Re: wishin' on a star

You know this 1x2 brick hinge... (URL) I have wished for years that it was also made in a 1x1 style. Could you folks who design the parts consider it? Thank you. Eric Sophie (20 years ago, 8-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: wishin' on a star

(...) Lots of excellent choices. I've got a bit of a wish list two. a) 1x3, 2xn tiles. Basically, tiles in the same size range as we already have in plates b) 2xn plates with a single row of studs (similar to the 2x1 with one stud) c) ball & socket (...)   Re: wishin' on a star

(...) Well, if they made it in an 18 slope even though there's only one other basic compatible piece (I know there's also a triple-wedge, but...), there's always a chance that they might make it in 33 and 45 degree versions someday.   Re: wishin' on a star

(...) Ahhh, yes. You are correct. Bummer. That would be awesome in 33 degree. -Duane (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, FTX)

  Re: wishin' on a star

(...) Close, but not quite. I just got the Summer S@H catalog today, and the black faceted slopes used on that mech's waist are 18 degree slopes, but #22a has the proportions of a 33 degree slope. (...) i checked it out and the set hasn't been inventoried yet, but i do see a piece that could be it! can anyone verify? if it is what i'm wishin' for, thanks for finding it, you saved lego a pile of money! deborah (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, FTX)

  Re: wishin' on a star

(...) Those are some awesome parts all right. Many of us wish for some of the corner slope stuff you generated. Nice LDraw modeling (or however you did it... how DID you do it?)! One question, I dind't quite follow (URL) 17> though. Can you talk a (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, FTX)

dear lego, one day, when i grow up, i'm hopin' my dreams will come true. i'm hopin' that you'll build some really neat pieces, pieces that'll help us make even more fantastic things with your fantastic toys. i don't know who looks at this letter, (...)   Re: Knights’ Kingdom™ is ugly.

I watch the local stores here in Singapore very closely. They each have a bunch of Yodas, Rebel Blockade Runners, Darth Maul heads, Red Baron Triplanes, Santa Fe Super Chiefs and Legend Black Falcon's Fortress. All of these sets have been sitting on (...) (...) Two points: 1. Disneyland's castle is Sleeping Beauty Castle. Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom's castle is Cinderella Castle. 2. Sleeping Beauty Castle is a real castle, as it was modeled after Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. Jason (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Knights Kingdom is ugly.

(...) I wouldn't go so far as to say anime is crap. In fact some of it is quite good. But, like it or not, this is the look kids like right now and I don't blame LEGO for trying to play up to that. Anything that makes LEGO sell is, in my opinion, a (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Knights Kingdom is ugly.

(...) I second that. The new KK line has nothing in common with the very idea of castles or knights - they are more like a designers-on-acid impression after looking too much television. As someone in this thread pointed out, they look remarkably (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Knights’ Kingdom™ is ugly.

I guess it’s time for a lurker on .castle to finally say something. There’s a lot to be said about Lego’s choices for what 2004 holds in store for the company, it’s true. The color change had many in a frenzy, and there’s still some sour feelings (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Knights’ Kingdom™ is ugly.

(...) Yes, I've used that line a number of times, myself. I'll respond with a big "No duh." But, this thread has gone off in a number of directions that I wasn't orignally intending to hit on. My point is as simple as the thread title. The sets are (...) (20 years ago, 5-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.castle)
