This is certainly an area where a tool is desperately needed.  At first pass
it seemed to work fairly well.  It's certainly a big step up from pencil and
paper and more useful than a speadsheet template.  Thanks for throwing this
out here.

Before I get into suggestions/problems, keep in mind that people who
inventory Lego sets are probably a bit anal, and I'm worse than most.  :)
Please don't get offended by anything I write here.  So far I've only done
one inventory (a MISB 6260 set) so I have limited experience with the tool
so far.

Issues/Suggestions:

- Nitpick: Tool tip for the Find button says "Delete from my Inventory"
(cut/paste error)

- Bug: When adding two of the same part with different "Notes" the parts are
combined and one of the notes is lost.  Since at Peeron they use the Notes
field to describe patterns that don't have official part numbers, this is an
important, if easily solved, problem.

- Minor Issue: Although it's unusual, I like to record the instruction sheet
serial number in my inventory.  However, the program requires a color for
all parts added.  It would be nice to be able to specify nothing for the color.

- Minor Issue: Gold doesn't show up as a color?  Since there were coins in
this set it was a minor difficulty.  I noticed Gold was commented out in the
Colors.txt file and uncommented it out and used the hex code for Yellow to
get around it.

- Suggestion: It would be nice to be able to search on part name as well as
part number.  Also, when entering nonsense text in the Find box, it would be
nice to get a "Part not found" message or some indication that something
happened.  Partial matches would be nice too.

- Minor Issue: When you select an item in the inventory list, it is
highlighted and its information is displayed on the right (nice feature!).
However, if you add a new part, the new part will be highlighted but the
previous part's information is still displayed on the right.

- Suggestion: When you delete an item, you delete all of that part,
regardless of the quantity.  It would be nice to be able to only delete some
of the part (2 of 4 Brick 1 x 1 for example).

- Suggestion: It would be nice to be able to save more information about the
set in the inventory than just a single text field.  Set number, set name,
inventoried by whom, from what condition (MISB, MIB, from instructions,
etc.), theme, year, price.  I like the idea of storing some of this
information in the inventory similar to the way Set: and Pieces: already
appear at the top.

- Useless and Whimsical Suggestion: It would be nice if the program could
calculate the Lego piece count in addition to the actual (head and torso
equals 1 piece, not 2).  However this would require some way of marking
extra pieces because I don't think they appear in the official set piece
count either.

- Minor Suggestion: It would be useful if the program had an interface to
add new parts and pictures to the parts list, rather than moving and
renaming files or editing the parts list.

- Minor Issue: I generally prefer to run applications full screen but this
program has no maximize feature.  If I could maximize and display the Bag
and Notes column in the inventory listing area with the other columns it
would be nice, again for a visual comparison to a peeron inventory.  It
would also make the part selection area bigger and easier to scroll through.

- Suggestion: More import formats would be handy.  I have many inventories
stored in formatted text and Excel spreadsheets.

- Bug: Each time you open an inventory, rather than clearing the current
parts list, it adds the new parts to the list.  If you open an inventory,
make changes, and then decide to go back to the version you had before by
opening it again, you've just made a mess of things.  Trust me.  :)

Thanks again for the program.  Sorry this went so long.
