Steve --

Thanks for your feedback! I'm not sure this reply should be in db.inv, so I'm
entering lugnet.general in my "followup-to" field.

To answer your comment:  My color column lined up just fine when I entered the
message. Unfortunately, lugnet stupidly insists on displaying messages in a
variable-width font, not the fixed width font that it uses in the "post new
message" form. Also, unless you happen to be using a Macintosh, your browser
won't allow you to select a fixed-width font to use as your "variable-width
font". We really need to get lugnet to fix their font problem.

If you don't have a Macintosh and you just want to read my message as it was
intended, you can cut-and-paste the message text out of your browser into a
program that uses a fixed-width font. Any word processor will work, although
you might have to select the text and change the font in your program's font
menu after doing the paste command. You can also solve the problem by using the
"NNTP" method of reading lugnet messages.

I happen to consider color to be very unimportant, and the existing technic set
inventories in http://www.lugnet.com/inv/ have color at the end -- so I
arbitrarily started doing al my inventories that way too. If people really care
a lot about this we can convert all the inventories into a format that puts
color right after the part count and I'll be glad to convert and re-post the
existing technic inventories if people want.

(...) Are you sure it really did? I'm looking at the raw NNTP text article right now, and it doesn't line up in all cases. Most lines do, but of course any line with a really long part description pushed the color over. If you took Steve's (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jul-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)
