Pneumatic Pump Testing Goes Hi Tech

Hi, fellow pneumatics fans Ever since the RCX Controlled Air Compressor Tester was posted, there have been many suggestions for it's improvement, in particular to linearize the tracing. More importantly, several people have commented that it was, (...) (24 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, lugnet.build, lugnet.dacta) !

Re: Solar Cell Output in Direct Sunlight

I have a Halogen uplight lighting a room and my solar cell will power a motor, with no load up to a distance of around '6 (3' work height) from the light pole. This will fluctuate according to the reflectance's of the ceiling, walls, etc. Rose (...) (24 years ago, 6-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.dacta)

Re: Internal Photos of the LEGO Capacitor

(...) <snip> Their solar panel specs are wrong, or at the very least extremely conservative to the point of being incorrect. I've pulled 4 volts in direct sunlight, even more under a 2 million candlepower spotlight at 6". Assumingly the capacitor (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.dacta)

Re: Internal Photos of the LEGO Capacitor

Ok, I gotta jump in here for a minute, I have 6 Solar cells and 4 Capacitors, I am building them into the Wings of my Robot. (URL) Heres what I know about the Solar Cell and Capacitor. Solar Cell output 2.5 volts direct sunlight, Capacitor and solar (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.dacta)

Internal Photos of the LEGO Capacitor

Okay, here's top and bottom photos of the LEGO capacitor's circuit board. They're not the best, but the circuit board is only about 1" square. (URL) Regards Micah J. Mabelitini - LUGNET #918 The University of Kentucky SECC Middlesboro Academic (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.dacta)

Re: Solar Cell Output in Direct Sunlight

(...) Well, I could certainly create an artificial environment which would increase the solar cell's output without the need for scheduling another test on the summer solstice, if you were merely curious as to its maximum output based on the cell's (...)   Re: Solar Cell Output in Direct Sunlight

(...) I'd suggest that you try this again mid-summer. The solar radiation angle is still fairly low at this time of year with much of the energy being scattered by the atmosphere as well as being spread over a larger surface area of the earth. I (...)   Solar Cell Output in Direct Sunlight

Well, it finally got sunny here. In direct sunlight, the solar cell seems to put out about 4V, 135mA (24 years ago, 23-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.dacta)

  Preliminary Solar Cell Output Measurements

These results are preliminary, but they'll give you some idea of the solar cell's capabilities. Outdoors - Full Overcast Voltage: 3.5V Amperage: 30mA Incandescent Lightbulb - 100W@1" Voltage: 4.1V Amperage: 150mA Indandescent Lightbulb - 100W@6" (...)
