It’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of TLC’s approach is it?

Taking a very broad view of the “market” - ie kids - the market’s changing. Kids seem to be abandoning traditional toys and picking up video games earlier.

Taking a more narrow view of the “market” - ie brick based toys - Mega Bloks seems to be winning more market share and certainly seems to be winning more retailer shelf space. Is their product more in touch with the market? Or are they just better at working with the retailers? I’d be sad to see Lego product become more like Mega Bloks in order to survive.

That can’t be blamed entirely on the color change, but does anyone here think that the color change actually increased sales?

That would be impossible to gauge, even for TLC’s marketing gurus. But reading between the lines, I don’t think TLC really would have expected it to immediately affect sales. I think it was just another of those tweaks that (they thought) would make the overall system slightly better.
