Because they have dropped the classic transparent orange (the fluro orange)
and instead moved to a new non fluro (and crappier IMO) color.

I much prefer the new transparent orange, although the old one worked OK for
flames.  I didn't find it very usable for much of anything else, as the color
was too saturated, and its hue was a bit too far on the red side of the
spectrum.  For anything other than fire, the new one is better, I think.

I expect that they will continue to use both for some time, just as they have
several transparent blues.  I wouldn't be surprised to see both transparent
oranges replaced by a color midway between the two at some point in the future,
though, if they decide to cut down on their colors.

Overall I'm pretty happy with LEGO's color changes.  The new greys are much
better IMHO, especially the dark grey.  I always found the old dark grey rather
ugly (it's not really grey ... more of an greyish olive color, very brown,
slightly green)

The new light yellow is an improvement too, I think.

The only change I don't like is the new brown.  It has too much red.  I would
have preferred something about halfway between the new and old browns.

In any case, I expect that we will see some changes in the future, but I would
be happy to see more advance warning and more information in the future.
