Hi Jojo,
It is interesting that you say it is much lighter than the old very light gray.
I don’t have a sample of the old VLG but when this kitten
came out in
at first I thought it was old VLG but then I began to wonder if it might be a
new bluish very light gray analogous to the new blue grays. (The kitten is
actually lighter than in the image, but I darkened it up slightly for contrast.)
I don’t have the new shield yet but from seeing box pictures I suspect they are
the same. And the new color Very Light Bluish Gray has been added to the
BrickLink Catalog to represent the color of the shield, since the catalog people
are convinced that the shield is, as you say, not white. The BL inventory
still needs to be changed, however.
