Woohoo! I love those coke cans, gives me a real sense of scale.... that's
TALL!!!

It's getting Heavy too = )
The Pepsi cans were the only thing handy as a reference...besides I finished
construction at 3:30am, the cans for scale just seemed to make sense...lol

Love it, Johnny! The yet-higher balcony is fabulous, no-one will ever be able
to attack without getting multitudes of arrows...

That is the general reason for the design...aesthetically pleasing, but with
an uglier underlying purpose.  The balcony a great place for the Shogun to
ponder and watch the sunrise.  Hwever, the whole Gatehouse is
"archer-friendly", providing protection, access, and strategic advantage to
the bowmen.

And I love what you did with
the top.

It's a beaut!

Thank You! <blush> I am not completely finished with the interirs and some
decorations, yet.  I guess it's a similar evolutionary process to your Inn.
from a modest foundation to a full stucture.

It took alot of experimentation w/ different hinges and plates to get the
roof to slope properly.  It's still hard to photograph a structure w/ so
much black and red, but the photos show most of the detail.

Yes, the can definitely gives great scale to it.

Well if I keep a similar structure for the main stucture, I'll have to add
3-4 cans = )

This is just the gatehouse....the palace will require alot more bricks,
time, and patience.  (Not to mention a bigger apartment)

What I like the most is how
the lower roof juts out upward.  That's ingenious, and looks to display
power,...or something. ;)

High praise...Thanks.  Much of this structure is single layers of black
plates.  You picked up on the feature I put the most time into
designing...the gate "main arch" will be referred to as "the Dragon's Wings"
(this will be explained later = )

I wanted to see if anyone would get the "power" or "intimidation" thing.
The gatehouse is designed to intimidate would-be attackers.  From the rock
foundation, through the large double height door, all the way to the Upper
balcony, I was trying to create somethng that would dwarf individual figs by
comparison. Other defenses (like the bridge and the moat/canal) combined w/
the gatehouse are supposed to intimidate, frustrate, and infuriate enemies.

** (however, pride in his new defenses will lead Legomoto to a sense of over
confidence w/ tragic results!)

Back to building......
