A pike is nothing more than a really long spear, that needs both hands to
use. About 15-20 feet long, sometimes longer. Lego doesn't make a pike,
per se - we had a lengthy discussion about making one a while back here (see
the sawed-off halbard I used on my triceratops-howdah a few messages
previous to yours, for example).
I don't have a King Leo's Castle (and won't unless I see it in the sub $40
range) but I imagine he's refering to the old style non-fancy halbard (or
two handed battle-axe, medieval weapon names not being the most precise of
things). I love to have different color weapons and armor to help units
have a different look and have been buying a few of these at auction/sales.

| Speaking of black weapons, one of the best-kept secrets of King Leo's Castle is (...) What's a pike? Actually, I see lots of good/unique parts and accessories: exclusive queen mini-fig with old-style hat, brown bird, brown crossbows, princess with (...) (24 years ago, 26-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle)
