complex question....
MY personal factions are quite different than TLG'S version though...I
generally don't subscribe to any Lego portrayal of good and bad...
Lego's apparent scheme: (basically ugly faces are bad and serious but
distinguished are good)
Shogun, Blue Samurai, gray Ninjas "the good guys"
Red Robbers w/ black sock hat or Black helm and Black Ninjas "the bad guys"
White emperor in 3053 "Kinda Bad Guy"
White Ninja Princess may or may not be "good"
Red Ninjas ??? "probably evil" compete w/ robbers....not sure if they are
allied with the white emperor...the dragon crest and beige/blue color scheme
is the same in 3052/3053...they seem like theives in 3053, galley
slave/bodyguards in the small boat...have seige machines in Blaze attack.
This is just rudimentary observation...others may disagree...

New minifig packs don't shed much light o things either....all are portrayed
as heroes of some sort.
