Last weekend (Feb. 19-21) IndyLUG had a display at the Child & Parent Expo in
Indianapolis at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. We had three sections to the
layout: Town/train, Space and Castle. Most of our clubs shows are train
oriented, but this past Expo was open-ended; we could build whatever we wanted.
Several people jumped on this opportunity to make a large Castle layout as part
of our display. We used the Classic Castle City wall standard for making the
wall around the good guy castle and village.
The bad guy castle was made entirely by Peter, who was displaying with us
for the first time. His fortress was huge. The following four thumbnails are
all pics of his single gigantic structure:
We also had other medieval structures throughout the layout
We used two lowered tables to create some bodies of water in the landscape.
One for a river, and one for a harbor.
Then, of course, we had hordes of armies duking it out medieval style.
The entire gallery can be viewed
here. (There are 3
pages of thumbnails in the gallery.)
