great work! It's simple in it's design, not becoming bulky,
and it's not too difficult to build (considering you have the right bricks
:-).
It makes you wonder why Lego it self never came up with this idea.

It would be interesting to see what difference it makes when you use
plates instead of bricks. Making the steps double plated should
spare the minifigs some breath, i think.

Using his stairs as inspiration, I came up with this design for my new
