Hey All,
Just a rant to blow off some steam. Dont feel like you have to reply. I buy
and sell quite a bit of legos on Ebay. Have had mostly a lot of fun and good
times up until now. In a big lot that I bought a while back I got a complete
armor shop #6041. It was 100% complete, the only thing missing was the box.
And it was in perfect condition. It must have been displayed under glass.
Very few scratches, no dust, no wear. Perfect. I almost kept it, but my lego
fund was low and I already had another one. So I sold it on ebay and shipped
it through USPS. The bidder never asked for insurance, delivery confirmation,
tracking, etc. You see where this is going? The bidder says they never got
the item and I believe them. They wrote to me and asked for any information I
could send them to help find out where the package had got to. But with no
tracking number this is difficult, right? I emailed them a copy of the
receipt, showing that is was mailed and all that. They wrote back very angry
and cussed my out for not giving them the tracking number, like I was hiding
it or something. Then they left me negative feedback, saying that I wont
give them the tracking number. My first negative feedback. I have a 128
positives and HAD 100% positives. No more. They also had the nerve to say
that it was impossible for them to request tracking and insurance, because
they paid with Paypal. What?! Oh man, I am ticked. This all just happened.
Yes, I will get over and life goes on. But right now I am pretty steamed. I
am going to go build something now...

Its too late for this transaction, but for your future sales be sure to list
that you require Delivery Confirmation and that the buyer has to pay for it.
PayPal does not make it impossible for them to request tracking and insurance:
in fact if that is what they claim then I would suspect that they are scam
artists. Realize with PayPal you need to be able to show some evidence to
PayPal that you actually shipped the item - your receipt showing the city and
zip of the item may be enough, but if you gave that to the buyer, now you dont
even have that.
I really, really, recommend to anyone accepting PayPal that they use Delivery
Confirmation or some equivalent. You dont have to prove that the item actually
got there, but you do have to be able to prove you actually shipped something to
the buyer.
