This really should be directed elsewhere, so I have.

Ldraw is available for free download at www.ldraw.org

Also available for free download is MLCAD and POV-Ray, all tools to help
make better renders.

Ldraw is good for building lego models that are unable to be built in real
life for either lack of parts or lack of room (or lack of the ability to
break the laws of physics).

MLCad is an add-on to LDraw that allows it to be used a bit easier by some
people, harder by others.  It really depends who you are.  I personally can
use MLCad better than I can use LDraw.

POV-Ray is a rendering program that makes LDraw lego files look REALLY good.
You'll need to download a helper file from ldraw.org.  The helper file will
convert the ldraw '.dat' files to POV-Ray '.pov' files.

There are many better examples out there, but this picture:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=132848
made by me was made in MLCad and rendered with POV-Ray.

Hope that helps, and if I missed anything, I'm sure someone will be kind
enough to add to or correct what I've said.
