Re: Boycot the New Castle Knight Sets

Hmmm - I think the Bionicle Knight's will be bought a lot from children ! Nearly all boys between 8 and 14 are Bionicle-Fans right now - and they want them ! -> So "boycoting" won't work ! Just let them be and by the new colorfull castlesets 2004 ;) (...) (21 years ago, 16-Dec-03, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: banner year for castle

I suppose there are some nice touches in there, I was just (wrongly) holding out for models rather than playsets. The comic that comes with the figures shows the castle also with red trim rather than blue, so whether the set will come with the (...) (21 years ago, 16-Dec-03, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: banner year for castle

(...) I actually thought the big castle has some nice touches. The use of a dark gray band under the crenellation peaks simulates shade, for instance. Plus I am very relieved to learn that the new KK is not JUST big play figures but also a minifig (...) (21 years ago, 16-Dec-03, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: banner year for castle

(...) Looking at the sets...I can see a couple of good ideas for MOC's, some good parts, but some terrible colour selections. I like the tower wall sections in 8780 with attatched barred windows. Benjamin Whytcross (21 years ago, 16-Dec-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: A Castle with a difference

(...) Hi Tony, Thanks for visiting my castle For me too, Sidney Toy’s book was very fascinating. One of my other hobbies is building history, so the book wasn’t dry at al for me. On the contrary!   Re: A Castle with a difference

(...) Leo, How wonderful that you've used the Sidney Toy book to add realism... that's an incredibly detailed book! I have it, and took it with me on a business trip; while my coworkers were reading romance, I read this. They wondered how I could (...) (21 years ago, 16-Dec-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)

Re: A Castle with a difference

(...) Thank you for your comments. I had lots of years to collect bricks and finally, a dream came true. The pictures were made during the building process and placed in the same order, only to show some details, which are invisible after finishing. (...)   Re: A Castle with a difference

(...) Thank for visiting. It is always difficult to choose the right colour combination for this kind of buildings. Make it grey only, and it looks more like a concrete silo. The more so, this would have been if the parapets were flush with the (...) (21 years ago, 14-Dec-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: A Castle with a difference

Re: A Castle with a difference

(...) Hi Nik. 'Just call me Nik' I didn’t forget that. How are you? Did you get some inspiration from LEGOWOLD 2003 for future buildings? Maybe, after several years of collecting bricks you will make a castle like this yourself. I hope I see you (...) (21 years ago, 14-Dec-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)

Re: A Castle with a difference

(...) I had a chance to see this castle at LEGOWORLD 2003, and get to know the builder, Leo and his lovely wife very graciously shared a cabin with us at Lemenkulen (probably mangled that spelling but oh well).   Re: A Castle with a difference

(...) I think picture 18.jpg is the most telling because it shows the complexity of the wall construction. You have accomplished what was only a pipedream on my part. Thanks for showing it. My only quibble is that the extreme compression of the .jpg (...) (21 years ago, 13-Dec-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)
