It's just a processor that fast is of no use if you don't have the RAM to
support it.  A better choice would have been a slower processor with more
RAM.

What about if windows stops working eh?

Did it?  I've had no problem with running 15 hour renders on a Pentium 1
166Mhz with 32 MB of RAM.  (Of course the same renders took less than an
hour on my current machine: P3 933MHz, 384 RAM)
