Hi again,
I started a new picture with the same parameters. But this time I switched from
hdri to radiosity. I also added a neutral background. I can't show you the
results because now (8,5 hours later) it's not finished. The details and
reflections of the model are nearly the same (as far as I can see right now). I
will post it on brickshelf later this day...maybe I interrupt the render at a
point where it is possible to see enough because rad.inc is sooooo slow :-(
As long as I'm not willing to pay for better hdri lightsources I will do some
experiments with neutral background constructions. The background light is
useless in most cases so I think it can be blocked. The radiosity gives good
results and is much faster. And the enviroment light is better than 4 or 5 light
sources. Together with one additional lightsource (as in this last picture) the
results are not so bad...
Btw. I posted the .ldr-files on bricksonthebrain. The corrected baseplate is not
included and a customized tuntable is missing but everyone can try to render it
on his own risk;-) Time for breakfast now...
