  Re: New to digital LEGO

(...) In LEdit, you can use the menu sequence { / -> (T)urn -> (C)enter } to move the center of rotation over to the centerpoint of the current piece. Any piece you rotate will then turn around that centerpoint. I use the fake part line as a weak (...) (24 years ago, 8-May-00, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad)

  Re: 1st Render

(...) Ogowch! :-) Hmm, too bad LEGO didn't make Han Solo in carbonite by recessing him into a 1x4x5 brick instead of printing him onto a 1x2x5... (...) LOL -- oops, I guess that was ambiguous... :-) I meant a coincidence from my point of view -- I (...) (24 years ago, 8-May-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: New to digital LEGO

(...) I dunno about POV, but 'most any simple picture-editing application will allow you to "save as" from .bmp to .jpg - even the "paint" app that comes preinstalled on windows (if you have that). HTH! -Shiri (24 years ago, 7-May-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) Is (...) when (...) easy, (...) Thanks for the response. I am using LEdit. But, I don't get how to use the fake part line, or how editing the center of rotation will change the output to POV code. thanks, Chris (24 years ago, 7-May-00, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad)

  Re: New to digital LEGO

(...) Thanks. (...) Doh! Uh, yeah...I guess with a fast net connection, I wasn't thinking. I figured out how to get POV-Ray to output a .png which is much smaller, but I don't seem to find any docs for producing jpegs. Do I need to use some (...) (24 years ago, 7-May-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: 1st Render

(...) Yeah the planets are pov-ray objects. Just spheres with textures. The reason they're close together is that the blue earth-like planet in the lower corner is the planet and the other two are moons. The grean/blue and red marble looking one is (...)   Re: 1st Render

(...) The figure is just a blacktron fig made in MLCad. I Then just put him in the cockpit of the Azreal dat file, and then converted the dat to pov. The fig sits with his legs at right angles to his torso, which is not how the fig in real life sits (...) (24 years ago, 7-May-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: 1st Render

(...) Are the planets pov-ray objects, too? I know it's more dramatic that way, but the planets seem quite close together! --Bram (24 years ago, 7-May-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: 1st Render

(...) Sweet!! -- especially the shadowy fighter figure inside the cockpit -- how did you get POV to do that so beautifully? (...) go? Do you have a "wish list" for future POV renders? If you're taking requests, I sure wouldn't mind seeing a nose-on (...) (24 years ago, 7-May-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)
