The 'manual' method I follow to create pictures of my MLCad models are:

1. After saving the completed model, quit MLCad.
2. Restart MLCad. The completed model now shows up in the Models list.
3. Select the model as if using it like a part.
4. Rotate the model until I get the 'facing' I want in the 3-D window.
5. At this point you can use the 'Save Picture' option to take a snapshot.
The following steps I use to create a 'POVRAY' style photo.
6. SAVE as "modpose.dat" (my shorthand for 'model pose'.  of course you can
use whatever name you want - just DONT use your model's filename).
7. Quit MLCad, open LDVIEW (available at http://home.san.rr.com/tcobbs/LDView)
8. Open the 'modpose' model, NOT your original model file.
9. Make whatever minor rotation/zoom/unzoom movements needed to get just the
'picture' I want.
10. Hit ALT-PRNT SCREEN. This 'captures' the current window onto the Cut &
Past clipboard. (This works for PCs, don't know about MACs)
11. (leaving LDVIEW open) Open Windows Paint (other image editing programs
can be used here), 'Paste' and Voila! A 3-D POVRAY style picture of my MLCad
model (minor cropping can be done to remove the Windows 'frame').

May seem a bit complicated, but then I don't know how to create true POVRAY
renderings, I'm just a 'point & click' database programmer...

You can always hit the print screen key on your keyboard, then open a
graffics program(like MS Paint), paste in the screenshot, crop out the extra
stuff, and then save the file as a .jpg.

There may be a way to do this with MLCAD, but I forget. But the best way to
do it would be to get L3P and POV-RAY, but that requires a little bit more
work...

I just created a model of mine in mlcad.  And i want to take pics of it in
the program, such as save pictures as in the file menu.  The only view it's
letting me save as is the 3D view.  Is there any way i can save pics as a
different view?  Thanks a lot for any help you give.
