MLCad blacked out views problem

I recently upgraded to version 3 of MLCad and I'm having a problem were all the
views have turned black. It appears to be some sort of graphics problem,
because the parts preview window is also blacked out, and all the colours in the
default pallet are also black.
Nothing changes if I load in a model. If I go to the custom colour pallet
window and create a new colour the colour still stays black. If I go to the
save pictures option the preview window is black. If I drop a part into a view
it disappears into the black. It's in the parts list but not visible, or
selectable from any of the views.
The really frustrating problem is the older version of MLCad is now doing the
same thing. Which leads me to believe it's not actually MLCad causing the
problem.
I've done the usual, restart computer and reinstall MLCad. Reinstalling the OS
is not an option as this is works computer.
Runing on Windows XP Pro.
Does anyone have any idea what going on, or what I might be able to do to fix
this.

| I'm beginning to wonder if Direct X 9 is the problem. Although I can't say this problem started immediately after I upgraded to Direct X 9 it was definitly around the same time that the blackout problem started. Anyone else have Direct X 9 installed (...) (21 years ago, 25-Sep-03, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
