Hi folks,

working on the LDConfig file

http://www.ldraw.org/wiki/index.php/LDConfig.ldr

I came across official parts that use colors present in MLCad but not the still
official LDraw color chart:

http://www.ldraw.org/library/official/ldconfig.ldr

Just to mention a few:

Color 430: 3811p02e.dat
Color 431: 973p2e.dat
Color 485: 973p4t.dat, 3846p4t.dat
Color 486: 973p31.dat, 973p32.dat, 973p33.dat, 973p34.dat, 973p36.dat
Color 487: 30375ps2.dat, 6069ps2.dat
Color 495: 973p31.dat, 973p32.dat
Color 496: 3068bp10.dat, 3298p10.dat, 553ps1.dat, 553ps2.dat, 973p55.dat

Since there are sometimes just one or two parts using this color and it is hard
to match them against the official TGL or BL colors (and most of the time affect
patterns only) I have HOLD some of these currently at the PT while the rest
should re-submitted once the LDConfig file has been updated.

Hi, Scott Wardlaw has written a prog which matches the colors used in the official parts against the now updated LDConfig.ldr colors chart. This is a list of parts that use colors which were mainly defined in MLCad and have never been LDraw colors: (...) (15 years ago, 30-Sep-09, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) There may be problems matching these colors. As you note, these are patterned parts and the colors Lego uses for the printing on patterned parts do not necessarily match the colors used for the plastic brick. -Orion (15 years ago, 1-Oct-09, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) Hi, All these colors are in the 'dithered' range, if the actual dither color is wanted by the part author it has nothing to do with mlcad or has it? And isn't declaring new colors in the LDConfig using the dithered range breaking some kind of (...) (15 years ago, 1-Oct-09, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
