Procedure for LDraw.org Steering Committee Elections

Per the LDraw.org Bylaws, we are posting the procedure for the Steering
Committee elections one week before the election begins.

LDraw.org Steering Committee elections will commence as scheduled on Friday,
April 30, 2004. They will run for two weeks, and conclude the evening of Friday,
May 14, at midnight EDT (GMT -0500).

The ballot will be a poll run on LDraw.org, open to registered members of the
organization. If you are not registered as a member of the organization and
would like to join, follow the instructions at the bottom of this page:
http://www.ldraw.org/article/283#join.

Wayne Gramlich, an independent third party, will tally the results of the poll.
He will relay the winners to the Ad-Hoc Organizing Committee, who will then
announce the winners following the close of the election.

The ballot will consist of five drop-down list boxes, each containing a list of
all Steering Committee candidates. You may select up to five unique candidates
of your choice when you vote. Each organzation member may cast a maximum of one
vote for each candidate. Duplicate votes for the same candidate will be counted
as one single vote [1].

On behalf of the LDraw.org Ad-Hoc Organizing Committee

[1] Solutions to technically prevent people from casting multiple votes per
candidate were considered, however, we found that it wasn't feasible to modify
the software for that purpose at this point in time. The PostNuke polling module
currently does not allow for these solutions. Therefore, any duplicate votes
will be removed automatically by a poll counting script which Wayne will write,
and counted as one vote for that candidate.
