Everyone -

I noted the existance of the LDraw-tech mailing list in this LDraw.org article:

...but never noted it on LUGNET. So...

While we were recovering from the downtime, Dan and Steve set up the tech

mailing list, to keep everyone involved on site technical issues in the

loop. This is an invite-only list, consisting of technical volunteers,

charged with maintaining the website.

We've made the archives public, and you can read them here if you're interested:

Right now, we're primarly discussing the new content management system which

will replace the current website. Dan is setting that up with some help from

Rebecca Swartz (a newcomer to the community). When that's online, we'll be

able to have multiple people editing content on the website, all through a

web interface! Stuff will be a lot more dynamic, the web interface for

entering content will allow news to be posted more often and by more people.

We're looking forward to this!

The CMS will also solve voting issues, as membership accounts will use the

CMS's login system.

I don't have a timeframe I can give you on when the new site will be rolled

out. When we have an estimate, it will be posted in an update.

As a side note, Dan set up a SIGGRAPH LDraw planning list for me last night.
