Possible task for new LDraw author - early baseplates

Hi

To some extent the growth of the LDraw parts library is limited by the fact that
all the "easy" parts have already been created. This means that many new authors
face a steep learning curve if they start with a complex part.

But there is one area where a new or relatively inexperienced author could make
a positive contribution, and gain experience - the early baseplates.

There is an excellent reference on BrickShelf at
<http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=12949>, and in this case we are
happy for these to be authored directly from the actual pictures (but not the
"fake" or instruction scan images on this page), rather than needing to have the
part in hand.

Is there a newbie LDraw author out there who would be willing to take this on?
You would first need to check which of the patterned baseplates are already in
the official library or on the Parts Tracker, but otherwise I think this could
be a straightforward and rewarding task.
