By definition, all the programs have to be able to handle the original
unadorned comments of type 0 records. This is a requirement for all 0.27
compliant programs. This means that anything we don't recognize as a
meta-command is a comment. I get the impression that you think this is
going to change.
For 0.27 compliant DAT/LDR files, adding a meta-command that means comment
will only be of aid to the human reading the file. This could be a huge
help reading someone elses files where you don't know all the meta-commands
used.
With file versioning, we can require a comment prefix, and the user will get
a warning about un-recognized meta-command when the forget to start their
comment with the comment meta-command.
