Two suggestions
1. Learn how to cross post instead of posting multiple copies of the same
post to different groups, it keeps the threads better organized. It is not
hard to do and is very very useful.
2. Try to see if you can actually get a copy of the part you want to model.
While it is great to want to be helpful by modeling a part, you really OUGHT
to have one in your hands to refer to (and take precise measurements of)
before you try to model it, the work will go faster and you'll get better
results.
3. Check to see if someone else is already working on this part, has
released a draft version, etc... there are resources (listed in the web
interface of the cad group) to track this sort of thing.
Ok, three suggestions. :-)

| BTW - every time I try to cross-post, I must be doing something wrong cause it doesn't go through. Where's the FAQ's on this? Darn it all, someone else DID model the round shield. And here I thought it be a good first project for me (besides just (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.castle)
