I feel that a new set of tags is reuired given the recent imporvemtns in
L-Draw CAD systems.
Might I suggest the follwoing (extremly rough spec)
These commands are valid immediatly prior to a line-type.
0 SET TRANSPARENCY <Number> . For setting transparency of peices.
The following allow a color to be defined and used.
0 DEF COLOR <Scheme> <index> <Red%><green%><blue%>
0 USE COLOR <Scheme> <index>
I belive this is approach taken in both povray and VRML?
Immediatly prior to a quad.
0 USE TEXMAP <name>
This will allows the use of bitmaps for constructing decorated bricks and
minfig torsos. Alternativly the <name> paramater cou;ld be the name of a
.DAT file thata make up the texture. The TEXMAP acting as a flag to use a
chache appropriatly. Susbsequent USE TEXMAPS woudl obtain the cached version,

Any chance of modifying LDAO to do this automatically?
Alternativly this is something that could be incorporated as feature in the
next release of MLCAD.
Additional this use of an LDL file for colors could be become part of a
future MPD format- Ie a sort of colour's file for the entire model!
An extension of this approach would also allow the users of programs such as
MLCAD etc to
define standrad palletes for working with Space,Rock Radiers etc. elements...
(perhpas we need a new NG ugnet.cad.dat.color-schemes to cope with the
various alternatives?)
I will try and post a more detiald spec when I have more time...
